BTS's Suga Set to Begin Military Service This Week, BigHit Music Announces

BigHit Music, the agency behind the global phenomenon BTS, has officially announced that Suga, whose real name is Min Yoongi, will embark on his mandatory military service later this week. This development follows the footsteps of fellow BTS members Jin and J-Hope, who have already begun their military duties.

In a statement released on the fan community forum Weverse, BigHit Music conveyed the important news to the BTS ARMY, stating, “Hello. This is BigHit Music. Thank you for your continued support for BTS. We have further information regarding Suga’s military service. Suga will be beginning his required service on September 22. There will not be any official events taking place on the day he starts his service or on the day he enters the training camp.”

The agency also made a fervent plea to BTS fans, asking them to refrain from visiting Suga at his workplace during his service. Instead, they encouraged fans to express their support and encouragement in their hearts. Additionally, the agency warned against unauthorized tours or package products that exploit the artist’s intellectual property and affirmed their commitment to taking appropriate measures against such activities.

The statement concluded with a heartfelt note, “Our company will take appropriate measures against attempts at any commercial activity that make unauthorized use of artist IP. We ask for your continued love and support for Suga until he completes his service and returns. Our company will also strive to provide all the support he needs during this time. Thank you.”

This announcement comes on the heels of BigHit Music’s previous statement in August, where they informed fans that Suga had initiated the military enlistment process by applying for the termination of his enlistment postponement. The agency requested continuous love and support from fans for Suga throughout his military service and assured that they would spare no effort in providing support for the artist.

Currently, Jin and J-Hope are already serving their mandatory military duties. The other members of BTS, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, are expected to follow suit in the coming years. The group aims to reunite as a whole around 2025 following their service commitments.

As Suga embarks on this new chapter in his life, fans around the world are sure to support him wholeheartedly, eagerly awaiting his return to the BTS stage after his military service concludes.
