She worked as a Counselor under the Anti Retroviral Therapy Program associated with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, where she gained hands on experience supporting individuals experiencing emotional and psychological distress connected to medical and personal challenges.
During her tenure, Deepti conducted psychosocial assessments related to anxiety, depression, emotional trauma, stigma associated stress, and substance related concerns.
She also provided counseling support focused on emotional wellbeing, behavioral care, treatment adherence, and emotional resilience.
Her responsibilities included conducting pre test and post test counseling for HIV testing while maintaining strong standards of confidentiality, emotional sensitivity, ethical care, and informed decision making.
In addition to counseling responsibilities, Deepti collaborated closely with physicians, healthcare professionals, and social workers to support patient centered emotional care approaches.
She also participated in professional discussions, mental health awareness programs, and training sessions organized by the Department of Medicine, Delhi AIDS Control Society, and National AIDS Control Organisation.
