Vijay Deverakonda’s much-anticipated action-drama Kingdom has officially received a new release date. Originally slated to hit theatres on May 30, 2025, the film will now release on July 4, 2025, as confirmed by the actor and the film’s production team on social media platform X.

The postponement comes in light of the prevailing tensions between India and Pakistan, which have impacted the promotional campaign for the film. In a heartfelt statement, the makers explained, “We explored every possibility to stick to the original date, but recent unforeseen events in the country and the current atmosphere have made it difficult for us to move forward with promotions or celebrations.”

They further added, “We believe this decision will help us present Kingdom in the best possible way, with the creative excellence and spirit it deserves. We truly value your support and hope to receive your love when we meet you at the cinemas on July 4.”

The announcement concluded with a note of gratitude towards producer Dil Raju and actor Nithiin, whose upcoming film Thammudu is also scheduled for release on July 4. The clash between Kingdom and Thammudu, directed by Venu Sriram, is expected to make headlines in the coming weeks.

Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri and produced under the banners of Fortune 4 Cinemas and Sithara Entertainment by Sai Soujanya and Naga Vamsi S, Kingdom boasts a powerful team. The film’s music has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with cinematography by Girish Gangadharan and Jomon T. John.

The delay in release comes shortly after Vijay Deverakonda publicly condemned the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, where 26 civilians lost their lives. Sharing his grief on X, he wrote, “What happened yesterday is heartbreaking and infuriating… calling yourself a Force and shooting tourists is the most shameful, embarrassing, and cowardly act of dumb terrorism hiding behind guns.” The actor reminisced about celebrating his birthday in Pahalgam two years ago and expressed solidarity with the victims.

Vijay Deverakonda was last seen in The Family Star, opposite Mrunal Thakur. With Kingdom, fans eagerly await his return to the big screen in a new, intense avatar.
