YouTuber and content creator Apoorva Mukhija, popularly known as The Rebel Kid, is celebrating a significant milestone as her latest video, Till I Say It Is, has crossed 10 million views on YouTube. The video marks her powerful comeback following the India’s Got Latent controversy that erupted earlier this year.

In an emotional Instagram Story, Apoorva shared a screenshot of a WhatsApp message from her mother, who congratulated her on the achievement with the words, “Sai bless you abundantly mera bachcha (my baby).” Apoorva expressed deep gratitude, calling her mother her “biggest blessing.”

New Chat Show Appearance

Alongside celebrating her comeback video’s success, Apoorva shared a teaser of an upcoming chat show appearance that she filmed just 15 days after the controversy. She described the podcast episode as emotionally intense and thanked host Taneja Main Hoon and platform We Are Yuva for giving her a safe space to speak her truth.

Online Bullying and Social Media Hiatus

Apoorva had earlier deleted all her Instagram posts and briefly stepped away from the platform after being subjected to intense online bullying. The backlash began after her appearance in an episode of India’s Got Latent, where a controversial conversation involving YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia attracted widespread criticism. Though the primary outrage centered on Ranveer, Apoorva was also heavily targeted on social media.

In a candid post earlier this month, she revealed the extent of the abuse, including graphic rape and acid attack threats. She said her manager advised her not to return home due to safety concerns. “The day I went to the police to record my statement, I cried so much. It felt dehumanizing,” she recalled, pointing to the insensitive behavior of the paparazzi.

Apoorva also shared that her family, especially her parents, faced online harassment, with trolls targeting her mother’s social media accounts. “My parents did not deserve this,” she said tearfully.

Pledge to Support Survivors

In a strong statement of solidarity, Apoorva pledged to donate the earnings from her viral comeback video to an NGO that supports victims of acid attacks, rape, and domestic violence.

The India’s Got Latent Controversy

The controversy stems from a January episode of India’s Got Latent, a YouTube comedy show hosted by comedian Samay Raina. Apoorva was part of the panel when Allahbadia made controversial remarks about sex and parenting. The episode led to widespread backlash and multiple FIRs against the participants. Raina later deleted all episodes of the show from YouTube.
