Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s latest film Thandel has been making waves at the box office, crossing ₹40 crore within just five days of its release. To celebrate the film’s success, the makers hosted a grand success meet on Tuesday, attended by the cast, crew, and industry veterans. One of the key moments of the event was when veteran actor Nagarjuna Akkineni, who attended as the chief guest, expressed his joy over the film’s achievements and shared a heartfelt moment about his son, Naga Chaitanya.

Nagarjuna’s Emotional Speech

Speaking on stage, Nagarjuna revealed that he was initially unaware of Thandel‘s box office performance on the day of its release as he was at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s office with his family. He said, “It’s been ages since I’ve attended a success meet. I am very, very happy. I didn’t carry my phone with me, so I wasn’t aware of the audience’s response. But once I turned it on, I was flooded with calls and messages. That’s when I realized how much Akkineni fans celebrated this victory as their own.”

A Special Moment for Naga Chaitanya

Nagarjuna further expressed his happiness for Naga Chaitanya, revealing that he had finally seen his son smile after a long time. “I am so happy for Chaitanya. Throughout the film, he maintained his character, and there were many scenes where he excelled. I have seen my father deliver such performances in many films, and Chaitanya reminded me of him,” he said.

About ‘Thandel’

Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, Thandel features Naga Chaitanya as a fisherman from Srikakulam and Sai Pallavi in the lead role. The film is based on a real-life incident involving fishermen who accidentally drifted into Pakistani waters. Initially slated for a Sankranthi release, the film was later postponed to February 7. Produced by Bunny Vasu under Geetha Arts and presented by Allu Aravind, the movie continues to enjoy strong box office performance.

With the overwhelming response from fans and critics alike, Thandel has marked a significant milestone in Naga Chaitanya’s career, making the success meet a truly emotional and celebratory occasion for the Akkineni family.
