Actor and Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, was set to celebrate his 56th birthday on September 2. However, due to severe flooding and adverse weather conditions in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the planned updates and celebrations for his upcoming films have been postponed.
The producers of Kalyan’s highly anticipated films They Call Him OG and Hari Hara Veera Mallu had initially intended to share special updates on his birthday. However, the ongoing floods have led to significant disruptions, prompting the filmmakers to delay their announcements.
In a statement released on X (formerly Twitter), DVV Entertainment, the producers of OG, announced their decision to halt the birthday updates. “OG is not just a film; it’s a celebration for all….To make this special day even bigger, we’ve put in every effort to bring something huge on September 2nd. Due to the ongoing circumstances and floods, we’ve decided to push back our celebrations to a later date,” the statement read. They further emphasized, “Due to the continuous rain and flood calamities in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, we have decided to call off all birthday content releases tomorrow. OG is a film that will be celebrated for years to come. Let’s get through this together and celebrate in a big way soon.”
Similarly, the team behind Hari Hara Veera Mallu announced a postponement of their planned birthday poster release. They expressed solidarity with the affected regions, stating, “While we have planned an exciting poster for all the Power Fans, due to the ongoing severe floods, this is not the right time to celebrate, in keeping with Shri @PawanKalyan garu’s principles. We hope everyone understands and cooperates.”
Mythri Movie Makers, who are also working on the film Ustaad Bhagat Singh with director Harish Shankar, shared a birthday message for Pawan Kalyan. Their post on X included a photo of the producers and director with Kalyan, accompanied by a heartfelt message: “Wishing PowerStar @PawanKalyan garu a very Happy Birthday. Here’s to a year of phenomenal success, unparalleled happiness, and legendary moments. Keep shining and leading the way with your unmatched brilliance.”
The floods in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have caused significant damage, including landslides and loss of life. In light of the ongoing crisis, the decision to postpone celebrations reflects the filmmakers’ sensitivity to the current situation and their respect for the affected communities.
