Television actors Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya are finally heading back to India after a harrowing experience in Italy where their passports and belongings were stolen during a vacation in Florence. The couple expressed gratitude towards the Indian embassy for facilitating their return with emergency certificates.
The incident occurred last Wednesday afternoon in Florence, a popular tourist destination, when thieves broke into their rented car parked at a resort. Along with their passports, the couple lost cash amounting to ₹10 lakh and other personal items. Despite the setback, they maintained their spirits and replaced the car which was insured.
Taking to their Instagram accounts on Sunday night, Divyanka and Vivek shared a picture holding their emergency certificates issued by the Indian embassy. Divyanka, dressed in a blue top with matching earrings, and Vivek in a white t-shirt and wine polo cap, captioned their post, “Heading to Bharat soon. We want to thank ‘You’ for your overwhelming love and support. A big thanks to the Indian Embassy for making our ‘Ghar Wapasi’ (homecoming) possible.”
An emergency certificate was necessary as their passports were stolen, a document provided by the embassy in such cases. Divyanka, known for her roles in TV shows like Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and Banoo Main Teri Dulhann, and Vivek, who debuted in Yeh Hai Aashiqui and starred alongside Divyanka in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, have been married since 2016.
